Again many Baffins Fit Clubbers in the top top 10s of their categories and !

Due to the longer distance of this race many of the 10k'ers had finished and could enjoy watching their teammates finish and give them a deserved cheer.I must point out Simon Boreham, Daniel Walton and Warren Barker for their high finishes and some newer names, (to me anyway) Claire Sheard 4th in age group, Fiona Forbes 7th in age, Jane Carr, 8th in age group (Jane I re-calculated this as they somehow had you down as a man??), Nikki Wright 2nd in age group, Lisa Cross 3rd,and 2 of our more senior runners also did very well. Robert Turner-diamond won his age group and Kevin Friery was 4th. Lauren Platts was 10th in her age too.

There were some great efforts amongst the slower times too in both this and the 10k with some coming back from injuries and overcoming other difficulties, and others just enjoying running. That's what we are about. I remember a slogan from the dim, distant 1970's called Sport For All where the government was encouraging us to take up a sport. Our club embraces this mantra perfectly, by appreciating each other's individual efforts with taking part (and being a part of BFC) and not race times the overriding factor.

It was great to speak to so many others there, seeing how my Monday group got on (most were placed quite near each other), the Lakeside crew for the 2nd week running, seeing others for the first time in ages and others for the first time. Hopefully all the results are right with the right names in place due to swaps. Again if I have missed you and you did not enter as BFC I apologise. We can amend. This will also be going on the website under race reports so you can read it again without trawling through the M25-type traffic that goes on our club facebook page!
