Parkrun review from Saturday 5th January 2019. The first regular one on a Saturday in the New Year brought out some huge crowds at many venues.
Firstly a total of 620 runners (a record) took part Swindon parkrun event #432. Ben Ellwood ran his 2nd fastest here.

A total of 118 runners took part at Queen Elizabeth parkrun event #301. A great time for Carol Carberry here, a QE PB by a whopping 5:29 and better than many of her Southsea runs.

A total of 357 runners took part at Portsmouth Lakeside (a record) parkrun event #140
Many Baffins (31) and many debuts here and Lakeside PBs for Jason Forbes 0:48, Gemma Green 0:13, Chris Mathews 0:15 and this is an All-parkrun PB too. Kim Biggs improved her time here by 0:39, Zoe Fitzgerald by 1:19, Paul Griffin 0:02, Amy Hedley 2:02 and Matthew Hedley 1:46. Amy and Matt have now both smashed their PBs at 3 different parkruns in a row! Awesome. Many here ran their 3rd or 4th fastest time at any parkrun too. Colin Edwards was a volunteer too. Martin Biddle ッ ran an All-parkrun PB. There may be a couple more I haven't noticed.

A total of 493 runners (only 4 below the record) took part at Southsea parkrun event #278. Volunteers included Katherine Newell and Andy Seek (Run Director). There was a welcome return for Rob Scammell and PBs for Jason Smith 0:07, Vanessa Williams 0:38, Karen Dale 0:35, Bob Platts 0:38 in a reare parkrun appearance. Billy Jules Bilton ran his fastest since May 2018 and Daniel Bailey also his best since then. Simon Boreham ran his 3rd best time.Steven Parker, Simon Boreham and myself had a titanic battle for 1st Baffineer but I consoled myself with 4th best age-graded time! Alison Southwell was her fastest for a year. Natasha Jackson was our 1st lady with a 0:24 PB but I nearly missed you as you haven't put Baffins on your parkrun profile yet. Thanks Denyse King for the Vegan cakes. They tasted like.....cakes of course!
