Parkrun Report 6th April 2019- It's All About The Pants!

Parkrun report from Saturday 6th April 2019 We will start at Southsea where Cat Underwood celebrated her 50th run by getting as many as possible to run in our pants!. These were an assortment of pants of styles and colours, the most ubiquitous being the green lacy ones worn over shorts or leggings. I wore some old white Speedos that I haven't worn for about 20 years! However pride of place must go to Matthew McLean and Lee Collier-Williams who......wore just their pants, at least on the return leg.Volunteers included Daniel Bailey, Denyse King, Ian Briscoe, Kate English, Kev Budd as Run Director, Liam John Bradshaw, Martin James Coumbe, Martyn Threader, Sarah Platts, Steven Parker, Suzanne Bristow Anastasi and of course the omni-present Katherine Newell.

Fittingly on Cat's 50th run Clarke Morris ran a 1:18 PB, Tracy Kyle improved by 2:03, Ricky Smith by 0:45, Natasha Jackson by 0:01 paced by Alanna Burchett, and Colin Southwell won the M60-65 age group and ran his fastest since 4.6.16 with his 3rd best time. Simon Boreham ran his 2nd fastest parkrun here and I ran my best since September 2016 and under 20:00, a time I never thought would happen again.We had 5 in the top 20 Age-Graded times, Emma Jolley (1st lady) 2nd, me 3rd, Fiona Shaw 10th, Simon Boreham 13th and Colin Southwell 17th. It was good to see Warren Barker back.
Up in the north-east a total of 598 runners took part at Newcastle parkrun event #459
