Parkrun Report 11th May 2019

Here is my parkrun report for 11th May 2019
We shall start at Havant, where co-founder Julie Allan Fuller celebrated her 50th (parkrun not birthday!). A massive migration to the north-east of the city meant that 39 Baffineers celebrated with Julie and obviously, there was cake afterwards. The run was won by Chichester legend James Baker who nearly always wins the local parkruns. There were numerous Havant PBs, for Steve Cross a huge 4:29, Rich Harris Roty 0:54, James Yorke a great 3:34, Paul Griffin 0:49 Louise Griffin 0:34 (and 2nd lady), Jason Smith 0:08, Ian Briscoe 0:14, Kevin Rowsell 8:35!!!, Dave Ollie Oliver 0:48, Matthew McLean 0:07, Kim Biggs 0:33, Colette Brown 1:28, Colin Southwell 0:03, Cerys Walton a huge 4:30 and last but not least Maria Rowsell a great 2:34. Maria kindly ran with me on my first run for what seemed like ages (actually only 11 days but....) and then sped off on a good sprint finish at the end. Jon Olsen ran 24:30 but .........forgot his barcode!!!!! Others such as Kev Budd and Helen Mayhead were just outside their best Havant times.

Billy Jules Bilton and Carol Carberry continue to stretch and improve my geography knowledge and Carol was at somewhere I had never heard of. It is in Hemel Hempstead, Herts. A total of 156 runners took part at Gadebridge parkrun event #208

A total of 299 runners took part at Portsmouth Lakeside parkrun event #158. Sonny Locke ran for the first time here and clocked his 4th fastest parkrun anywhere. Another local speedy Lewis Banner won.

A total of 442 runners took part at Southsea parkrun event #296. Dan Slayford won despite his shoe coming off so I was told! Fiona Shaw is another in great form and once again she ran a new 2nd fastest parkrun, now only 0:07 off her PB from June 2016. Indeed 5 of Fiona's fastest 7 times are since April 2019. Vicky Anderson was running her 50th parkrun, and there were PBs for the ever-consistent Kam Fan 0:04 (in his 199th run at Southsea and 200th in all), and Rob Cooke 0:31.Michael Rae ran his fastest here since June 2018 and it is good to see him back under 21:00In the Age-Graded times, Michael Rae was 7th, Fiona Shaw 8th and Dan Slayford 10th.

I hope I haven't missed anyone out. I shall be doing my Coaching Course this weekend so no parkrun. It is right by the Eastleigh parkrun but annoyingly starts at 9:00 too! It also means I miss one of 4 great local events, the Bognor 10k where we will have a large contingent, the Clanfield Challenges (12k & 20k) where we will also be well-represented and the Southampton (Netley) 10k.
