Kim Stroud ran a Lakeside PB by 0:33 and Martin Biddle ッ knocked off another 0:24, 2 in a row and 0:51 better than 2 weeks ago. Kevin Rowsell ran his 5th fastest parkrun anywhere daughter Katie Rowsell ran her 2nd best here and Maria Rowsell capped off a good day for the family with one of her best times.

Finally, a total of 457 runners took part at Southsea parkrun event #307. Brenda Bradshaw equalled her PB. In windy (east for a change) conditions particularly good times were achieved by Ian Briscoe, Sarah Spragg, Bella Sanderson, Owen Marshall, Daniel Walton and Amanda Simpson. Volunteers included Claire Gasson, Esme Webber, Keith Caunt, Fiona Cfb, Jackie Goddard, Jason Forbes, Katherine Newell, Kevin Friery, Kevin Aylward, Lou Whitehead, Verity-Jayne Walton, Steven Parker, Nikki Tout, Billy Jules Bilton and led by the inimitable Kev Budd as Run Director.
In the Age-Graded times, Emma Jolley was 3rd, I was 10th, Michael Rae 11th in his 1st run in his new age category (I will follow next week 17th August), Fiona Shaw 17th and Amanda Simpson 21st. There were again a couple of slightly unsavory incidents with pedestrians. Sometimes runners are at fault and some really speedy ones finished high up and didn't take tokens. Maybe if they want a fast training run, a busy summer Saturday on the Prom is not ideal. Also though, some pedestrians seem to think it is their right to go wherever they want when parkrun is on (as it has been for neatly 6 years in Southsea). Just as we run at our own risk, all should take heed of this advice. If there's a run going on please take care!
On a happier note I will be at Southsea on 17th August for my first parkrun in the M60-64 age-category to celebrate my 60th! I'm not sure what condition I will be in after my party but we'll see! It would be great to see as many of you as possible to join me there. I shall just mention CAKE!!!!

It was good to see some returning after a while away too. Many of you will recognize Sam Trout at Southsea in the M70-74 category. I noticed that after over 200 parkruns he ran his 2nd fastest at the end of July. A great example to keep on running!
I also saw Dan Slayford came 2nd in 19:03 at Mountbatten School (Romsey) parkrun
