parkrun review from 17th August 2017
Well where can I begin but at Southsea where an amazing number of Baffins Fit Clubbers came down to help me celebrate my 60th birthday and first run in the M64-64 age category. Many that have not been along for a while turned up including Dean Schubert and Kevin Payce.
A total of 468 runners took part at Southsea parkrun event #309 and I made it a massive 62 BFC runners here with 5 volunteers to including Verity-Jayne Walton, Andy Seek, Katherine Newell, Brenda Bradshaw and Jackie Goddard.
Great that my eldest son Joe and his girlfriend Vanessa were there too, and it was certainly wise for me to run with them. Some people run to their watch, some to heart rate. After Friday night, I ran to my stomach in that I went as fast as it would let me go! I should be able to beat my time on the 24th.

It was not a day for PBs as we had the near usual south-westerly wind on the return leg.
Emma Jolley was 1st female, and best age-grade. Michael Rae was 8th and Amanda Simpson 12th in this category too. Sonny Locke was not far off his PB as he continued his great run of times.
