parkrun Review 7th March 2020
Women runners were more in evidence than usual on IWD International Women's Day.
We begin on the other side of the world where a total of 203 runners took part at Western Springs parkrun event #221 where Ben O'Shea ran another PB by 00:53 in his 3rd run here. on a tarmac path course in Auckland NZ.

Also abroad a total of 257 runners took part at Amsterdamse Bos parkrun event #1. The Netherlands has been a bit behind in taking up parkrun but I knew it was imminent as Ellis Whitcher had told me. I think it started in Utrecht last week. For those who don't know, Ellis ran in my group about 18 months ago before getting a new job but was disappointed to find out there were no parkruns over there.

A total of 243 runners took part at Hogmoor Inclosure parkrun event #105, where there was a meet-up of Vegan Runners. Chris King ran a PB by 00:31. Our Louise Griffin was 1st woman finisher and only 00:02 outside her best at this run which is run on a mixture of trail paths and sand. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain! Ian Briscoe made his debut too.

Finally a total of 558 runners took part at Southsea parkrun event #338. The wind was a little lighter than recently. There were some very good athletes down from Haslemere & Border AC who took many of the top places in PBs. There was a welcome return after 4 months for Rob Cooke and Laura Richardson ran a great PB by 00:11. Jason Smith, Paul Daniel Norris, Becci Knowles , Paul Alland and Fiona Shaw were very near to their best times. Chase Collis-Thorpe (Sarina Collis) smashed a massive 11:33 paced by Will Collis . Luke Linnington (Darren Linington)ran a great time only 00:01 outside his best here.
John Burchett (00:56) and an All-parkrun PB(Alanna Burchett) and Jackie Taylor (4th in a row and a massive 03:14) ran PBs and so too did Kylah Collis (01:12) on a great day for the family and Chantelle Ash 00:45 and Kirsty Jestins 01:27.
Many were back after their exploits in Malta and London the previous weekend and you can read about Malta in the previous post on here. Thanks to those who wrote it.
