parkrun Review for Saturday 14th March 2020

This could be the last one for a while, but advice is we should keep exercising if we are not unwell. As I typed this the briefing was being given and here are the main points. The prime minister began this press conference by urging ( not compelling, yet) people to avoid non-essential contact with others, including going to pubs, clubs and theatres. Over 70's and other vulnerable people should stay in for basically 12 weeks!. Somehow we will need to help them.

Anyone who lives with someone who has a cough or a temperature should stay at home for 14 days

People should start working from home where they possibly can

Avoid pubs, clubs, theatres and other such social venues

Only use the NHS when we really need to

From tomorrow government will no longer be "supporting" mass gatherings using emergency workers

Please stay safe, keep in contact if isolated and think how you can help others or ask if you are in need and keep up to date with the official Government Health advice

A total of 512 runners took part at Finsbury parkrun event #509. The course is a very short walk north-east from Finsbury Park train station (London), and run entirely on tarmac paths, although some sections of the course do accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Rebecca Niles was out first runner here.
