Finally a total of 292 runners took part at a very windy Southsea parkrun event #350. I was marshal by the zebra crossing oppositre the Canoe Lake and shouting 'Keep Left' seemed pointless on the way out as the southerly wind was blowing runners that way towards the cycle lane anyway!

Louise Griffin and Rebecca Niles were both in the top 5 female finishers. This was Rebecca Niles 3rd fastest here and 4th best overall. Damien O'Neill debuted last week and got a PB by 29 secs.

Michael Rae and Dave Rees-Whelan ran the 6th and 9th best age-graded times respectively.

other volunteers included the virtually ever-present Katherine Newell of course! She also is a regular at Junior parkrun on a Sunday at Bransbury Park.

Many were racing the next day at the RNLI 10k or Pieces of 8 so took it a bit easier. I will endeavour to write a short report on those races soon.

Interestingly we had a parkrun 'cheat' A guy ran over to the Canoe Lake where I was stationed at about 8:55. He then must have hidden and 'joined in' later and got a time about 7 minutes better than anything previously. Silly guy. He has been 'deleted' as the cybermen said on Dr. Who!
