I was the 2nd BFC runner here after Rob Scammell and I was very pleased with my time, which is our fastest here by 7 secs. I also had the best age-grade on the day and my 4th best age grade ever! The course is a double out-and-back on the north side of Victoria Dock, entirely along the dockside path.

Starting near the community hut by The Crystal, proceed along the dockside path until you reach the turnaround point at about two-thirds of the length of the Excel Exhibition Centre, where a course marshal will indicate for you to turn back. Retrace your steps along the dockside path until you return to the course start point. Repeat the course once more, and finish by the front entrance of The Crystal.

They got by with only 9 volunteers and were very relaxed despite last week's mishap where a come was misplaced and the course something like 5.6k. A lovely fastish course but with 12x90 degree turns and 3x180 degree turns. It is accessible on the DLR but a more spectacular arrival from North Greenwich would be on the cable car.

The Emirates Air Line, nicknamed the Dangleway, is a cable car link across the River Thames in London, England, built by Doppelmayr with sponsorship from the airline Emirates. The service opened on 28 June 2012 and is operated by Transport for London.

I met some lovely people here including a lady from Southampton!! who had just flown in from Belfast to the nearby London City Airport and thought she would just be able to get a parkrun in. She needs the new Totton one and Great Salterns to complete her Hampshire parkruns. Also 3 dressed in the pink track suits and running gear of their club in Harlow. 'Are you 3 going to the parkrun' was my stupid question as we got off the train! 'Why else would we dress like this' was their answer.

Thanks again to all the volunteers. Apologies if I've missed anyone off the review. Once again if you aren't able to run on a Saturday for whatever reason, please consider volunteering at parkrun. Many roles can actually be combined with running too.
