A total of 152 runners took part at Clacton Seafront parkrun event #211. Warren Barker is our only runner here, having taken part 3 times. The parkrun starts on the top promenade to the north of the Greensward Cafe Adventure Golf on Marine Parade West. We head initially in a southerly direction bearing left after the Greensward Cafe, then on the flat lower promenade in the direction of Clacton Pier. Just before the Pier, proceed left up the incline until reaching the top promenade. At the top of the slope, turn left and proceed along the top promenade, down the gentle decline back the starting point. This completes the first lap. Laps one, two and three are identical, on completing the third lap participants should proceed past the starting point, and bear left towards the Greensward - then turn left past the cone onto the grass. Proceed towards the finish funnel which is located directly ahead, across the slightly undulating grass section.

A total of 142 runners took part at Riddlesdown parkrun event #513 in Surrey. The Downs are part of the South London Downs National Nature Reserve. Our course is run in an anti-clockwise direction, covering two laps of the flat area to the north of the bridle path which runs between Tithe Pit Shaw Lane and Honister Heights.

It starts in Ibetts Piece and finishes near the Tithe Pit Shaw Entrance to the Downs. Whilst largely flat, Riddlesdown parkrun is a cross-country run and covers a mixed terrain with grass, mud, gravel and stony paths. Runners and spectators are asked to keep strictly to the paths and off of the long grass, in order to avoid disturbing the nesting sites of Skylarks, a protected species of birds resident on Riddlesdown.

I am told Ian Briscoe was aiming for another event, but that it was not on. He is our 1st runner here. Sounds l;ike a lovely area.

At York's famous Knavesmire Racecourse, 1.5 laps (approximately) of the tarmac service road around the inside of the racecourse. Very flat, with few turns, making it a very fast course. On course map, start at green pin and head anti-clockwise round service road. Complete 1 full lap, then continue on round approximately another 1/2 lap to red Finish pin

A total of 209 runners took part Seaford Beach (East Sussex) parkrun event #83

Out and back flat route along the concrete promenade. Start from the sailing club and head east. Run around Martello Tower, then turn around at the final row of beach huts just before Splashpoint. Head back west to the sailing club. Please keep to the left at all times along the run. When going out, at approximately 2.3k bear left and follow the footpath inland around Martello Tower. When coming back, at approximately 2.7k bear left and use the path on the coast-side of Martello Tower.

After 14 weeks I went back to where it all started for me in October 2013 and, after running 4 different courses this year, was surprised how crowded it was at the start and how many were still starting on the start line despite being 25 minute runners.

A few were not far off their best here. A more gentle than usual easterly greeted us and Jason Smith (28 secs), Eric De Greef (35 secs), Mercede Alcina Pannozzo (23 secs after Brighton the previous week too!) had good runs.

Even more impressively Jo Parry ran a 2:11 PB and Becky Johns 3:37!!

Craig Lunn ran an All parkrun PB by 23 secs. Michael Rae ran a Season's Best. There were some speedies down here so Mike and I did not make the top 10 age-graded times!

Katherine Newell was, as usual among the volunteers.
