The course (tarmac and trails) starts on the main path uphill of the visitor car park. First heading down to the "circle" at the south end of the park to turn right, you will then turn hard right at the next junction.

Follow the path bearing left at the next junction and after a short, sharp climb you will reach the path crossing where you will turn left.

Head straight on, all the way along the main tarmac path through two open gates. You will bend around to the left and head downhill to cross the brook, shortly after you turn left off the path onto a trail, through an open gate and across the grazing marsh - a section of undulating trail.

At the end of the trail you turn left onto a tarmac path which curves round to the right then leads you back alongside the brook. Turn left to cross the brook through an open gate and a short, sharp uphill through another open gate, to meet the main path again.

You will then turn left to complete a 2nd lap.

On reaching this point the second time you will turn right and then left to loop round past the ranger’s hut before turning sharp left at the new friendly bench and then downhill to the finish line at the crossroads.

A total of 286 runners took part at Medina I.O.W. parkrun event #503

Robert Turner-diamond took advantage of the parkrun still being at Appley Park, to the west of Ryde. All but 4 of his runs have so far been at Southsea, but I hear he likes Great Saltrerns now too.

The course, at Romford, is three laps (two large laps and one small lap). At the end of the lake there is an incline. On the first two laps, turn LEFT at the top of the incline. On the third lap, turn RIGHT at the top of the incline. The course is all on tarmac paths. The start and finish are close to the bandstand.

In summer months and in humid conditions, we suggest you may find it beneficial to apply insect repellant before arriving.

The run (on tarmac) starts next to a Basketball court , mid West of the lap. You will then run a small lap of approx 1.4 K. This is run in an anticlockwise direction in the Southern half of the lap. This will be followed by two full laps of approx 1.8K finishing close to the Community Cafe.

The course is run on a very good surface with a slight (their words!!) rise each lap, so it will test you a little bit, but not too much

This was my 1st run here, I ran 5th best Age Grade and am our fastest here, at the monent!
