A fantastic 1st female place for Jo Ann Wilkins in a 12 sec PB. Richard Walker also ran well as 6th male in a 16 sec PB. There were also GS PBs for Craig Lunn 35 secs, Geoff Newman (Alison Newman) 7 secs, Nick Lay 26 secs, Jim Thompson 32 secs (5th in a row), James Yorke 8 secs, Brenda Bradshaw 2 MINS (3rd in a row), Robert Turner-diamond 1 MIN, Ashleigh Moira 10 secs, Alison Newman 59 secs (3rd in a row) and Debbie Spicer 14 secs.

Alex Gannon, Liam John Bradshaw, Kev Budd and Steve O'Shea were close to their best times on the course, which was bone dry.

In the Age-Graded percentages, John Bucketsofrain, Richard Walker and Dave Rees-Whelan were 1st, 6th and 8th respectively.

A total of 307 runners took part at Braunstone (Leicester) parkrun event #542, where Ian Briscoe is our 1st runner.

The run starts on the grass between Gooding Avenue and Braunstone Hall with two clock-wise laps. Most is concrete though. There is short section of grass at the start, and a short section of grass at the finish. The remainder of the route is run on paths within the park.

The first lap starts in an easterly direction before turning right and joins the path from the main entrance to the park with a right turn, followed by a left turn.

A long downhill straight, followed by a right turn past the skate park, round to the two small lakes.

After the second lake turn left diagonally across the car park, turning right to rejoin the path. After 100 yards turn right at the first bridge.

Follow the path up the hill between the trees and then turn left after the hedge, and after a short distance the path joins the main lap.

The second lap follows the same route, except you turn right at the third bridge after the car park where the finish will be in sight up a short grass hill.
