parkrun review 11th February 2023

Hi, here's your parkrun report for current BFC members (as far as I can work out) from 11th February (a little late due to holidays etc.)

A total of 162 runners took part at Roundshaw Downs parkrun event #655. Ian Briscoe made his debut near Croydon.The course is in Roundshaw Downs - off Purley Way, Croydon is round a chalk downland nature reserve on reasonably wide well defined grassy paths with a short section through woodland. The route consists of two anti-clockwise laps starting and finishing near the end of Imperial Way. Please be mindful that there are a few mounds of earth on the far side of the gaps in the berm to deter motorcycles.

A total of 468 runners took part at Southsea parkrun event #420 and it was a great day for our club. Fiona Shaw ran her best since Sept 2021 and had the 10th best Age Grade.

Dave Rees-Whelan ran his best since November 2021, Liam John Bradshaw ran a 25 sec PB beating his previous time from July 2019! Mum Brenda Bradshaw was not to be outdone though, bettering her PB from Aug 2019 by 1:21 and an All parkrun PB by 15 secs.

Carrie Richardson Haunstrup was near her fastest and Richard Twose ran his best time since Sept 2021.

A total of 151 runners took part at Quinns Rocks (north of Perth WA) parkrun event #287. Quinns Rocks parkrun is a one lap course starting at Quinns Beach foreshore and heads South. Keeping left at all times there are four out-and-back deviations then returns to the start area where it continues North along the coastal path to another turn-around point then returns along the same path to the finish. This run is all on shared coastal paths with stunning views of the Indian Ocean and the picturesque Mindarie and Quinns Rocks beach.

Steve O'Shea is our 2nd runner here after son Ben O'Shea and is now our fastest here.

A total of 58 runners took part at Great Salterns parkrun event #58 when I was RD again. The 1st female was really fast for her age and her Age Grade was our 2nd highest ever here.

It was also an excellent day for our club on what is for many our home course.

There were top 10 finishes for Paul Osborne 1ST! in a 56 sec PB and our 3rd 1st place after Sonny Locke and Rich Walker, Sam Winton in a 1:22 PB! and also an All parkrun PB, Kevin Rowsell and Eric De Greef. In the Age Grades, Geoff Newman (Alison Newman) was 10th, Eric De Greef was 9th, Sam Winton 7th, Paul Osborne 6th, John Bucketsofrain 5th.

Paul Osborneis also our 3rd fastest here now after Sonny Locke and James Millham.

Alex Marathon ran a 38 sec PB and Ryan Richards 1:18.
