Beginning with our 3 Portsmouth parkruns this week, a total of 453 runners took part at Southsea parkrun event #438

Paul Osborne ran a 1:08 PB here and Libby Osborne completed the family double with a 40 sec PB!  and Katherine Newell was a volunteer as always, 491 occasions! Thank you Katherine.

Julie was 2nd female.Gordon (near PB), myself (just 4 secs outside my PB),Steven Parker (near PB) and Nick Hughes (debut)  all were in the top 10 and in the Age-Graded Percentages, I was 4th, Nick 6th, Steven 7th, Jason 8th and Gordon 9th.

Becci made here debut here and is our 1st on this course.
Course Description
Situated in the centre of Shrewsbury the Quarry park offers tarmac paths through avenues of trees and along the river Severn.
Good surfaces on the whole course with two inclines , one near the start, which is then repeated at 3km.
After doing a loop around the Quarry, runners head down the river, turnaround at the monument and head back for another loop of the Quarry before a final run back to the monument , then into the finish area.The course is in The Quarry, Shrewsbury. The course is run entirely on tarmac paths.

Ian Briscoe ran for the first time here and is now our fastest, beating Alex Gannon's time.
Course Description
Southwark parkrun is a flat 3-lap course taking place in the southern half of Southwark Park. The start and finish are on grass but 95% of the course takes place on tarmac. We meet under trees on the edge of the playing fields near the Gallery and head to the cricket nets for the pre-run briefing and start line. After three laps, the finish line and finish funnel is off the path on grass. The 3 laps are not all identical: at the fork near the end of each lap, the course takes the longer right-hand route on the first lap and the shorter left-hand route on laps 2 and 3. We encourage participants to keep right where possible on our course and to overtake on the left when there is enough room to do so safely.
