A huge total of 781 runners took part at Poole parkrun event #612
Course Description
Poole parkrun is flat, fast, scenic, fabulously well organised, and one of the UK's most popular courses. We have a nice wide start line on the grass field near Kingland Road play park, close to the car park at the Dolphin Leisure Centre. After a dash across the grass (Braveheart-style) turn right onto the park road, which is closed to traffic until 10am. Watch out for road furniture on this early section! The course then heads east towards the cricket pitch (keep right) for an anticlockwise lap of the tarmac cycle path. The lap starts with a sharp right turn so take care here. After completing a lap of the cricket pitch head back towards the start, keeping right as you pass slower runners (and give them a wave). After passing the fountain/finish area, the route then takes you on an anticlockwise lap of the beautiful large lake/lagoon. Keep the water on your left, look out for swans, and take care not to fall in! Your lap of the lake will take you past a weeping willow, over some sluice gates, past a model boating lake and back into the park - please keep to the footpath until you're back inside the park gates! Then with your lap of the lake nearly completed, turn right for one more lap of the cricket pitch (keep right, same as before) and back to the finish line under the row of trees near the fountain. Have fun in our famous multi-lane finish funnel, chat to your new Poole parkrun friends and hopefully celebrate a new pb!
Kirsty Williams debuted and Becci Knowles is our fastest still.

A total of 141 runners took part at Barrow parkrun event #591
Luc Semmens ran a 2:13 PB and is our speediest here.
Course Description, Barrow Park.
The course is undulating and consists of 2.5 laps on a clockwise route.
The course starts at the Bandstand Semi Circle open area. The course begins with a 100m gentle climb up to the main course, where it joins the loop around the Cenotaph Hill.
At the Cenotaph, take the right turn and descend towards the park gates. At the bottom turn right and head up and over another short gentle climb, at the second set of park gates turn right (marshaled) at the corner.
Run down the gradual descent passing the bandstand, putting green and children’s play area on your right. Follow the road around in a semi-circular route, passing the near shore of the lake and head back up, climbing towards the Cenotaph.
Halfway up the climb, take the second right hand junction and run a straight 200m, joining the loop around the Cenotaph hill and continue for another 1.5 laps.

A total of 90 runners took part at Ruchill parkrun event #287
Course Description (in the Maryhill area near Partick Thistle FC's ground)
This clockwise course starts near Ruchill Park’s Murano Street entrance. It then heads into the large loop which takes runners up a gradual incline before turning downhill, passing the High Park School campus on the left. A right turn at the bottom of the hill leads to a long level section that builds to a gradual incline and a left turn to return downhill and past the Start area. The first lap finishes with a second smaller clockwise loop including a sharp but short incline and a right turn back to the Start. The lap is repeated in full (both large and small loops) and the final lap is only the large loop, and so finishes back at the start, near the Murano Street entrance to the park.
Gordon Scruton debuted here. Pleased to say I still hold our record here. This was the one I ran at last February when our case was lost on the train, so I ran it in all new kit!

Morden parkrun at Morden Park is a new one in South West London.
A total of 287 runners took part at Morden parkrun event #3
Ian Briscoe debuted here.
Course Description
The course is made up of three laps running clockwise on moderately hilly and grassy terrain with some sections on tarmac path. Care should be taken during wet or icy conditions.
Winter running: Morden parkrun can become very wet and muddy in winter months. We strongly advise all runners to wear appropriate footwear, ideally, trail shoes. Remember to take extra care especially when in the wet as the course can be slippery. Always check for parkrun cancellations in the winter months.
Due to the terrain, parts of the course may make it harder for people with buggies & pushchairs - please contact the team in advance for further information.
Getting there by public transport
Bus: Buses 80, 93, 154 stop a short walk away on London Road. Buses 163, 293 stop a short walk away on Hillcross Avenue
Overground Train: Morden South (14 minute walk to the start) and St Helier (18 minute walk to the start or a short bus journey on the 154).
Tube: Morden Underground Station on the Northern Line, is a 25 minute walk to the start of parkrun.
Turn right out of Morden tube station, cross over the road turning right again with the tall Civic Centre on your right hand side. Cross over twice to follow the road straight down (A24). Keep walking along this road until you reach a set of traffic lights and Merton College on your right hand side. Turn right into the access road and follow it down until you reach the Register Office. Keep this on your right and you will shortly reach the bandstand on your left.

For anyone interested in some local stats, the fastest parkrun is Southsea with an average finish time of 28:45 and the lowest is Fareham with 30:52. For comparison Great Salterns is 30:36.
Thanks and as ever, apologies for any errors and omissions.
