Brett's BFC Members parkrun review for 24th August 2024
I make it 35 BFC members ran (or walked!) at 7 different parkruns.
A total of 365 parkrunners took part at Bramhall parkrun event #752
Marc is our 1st here in Stockport.
Course Description
The start and finish is near the lodge entrance close to the Bridge Lane / Bramhall Lane South roundabout (see map). The route consists of 2 laps that wind through the park in an hourglass shape plus a start and finish straight. There's a much longer, more detailed description on their website.

A surprisingly small total of 310 parkrunners took part at Southsea parkrun event #500, however the weather was bad and the Victorious traffic may have put off many coming into the city.
A great achievement to get to 500, I was there on event 2 in October 2013.
A fantastic 1st place for our Christine Mc and she and Paul Osborne were near their best on this course. Katherine Newell volunteered.
Faye Michelle Ridgway ran a 10 minute PB which is incredible.

Course Description
Three laps, mostly on grass around the perimeter of the playing fields. The start and the finish is close to the car park
Take the No. 1 bus from York Railway Station.
I was our 1st runner here after not being able to run the main York parkrun due to having to compete with the Horse Racing at the Knavesmire.
I was happy with this run, 1st in age and 10th in age grades. It was quite quick for an all grass course but having said that, it was dry. To keep on the Racing these, I'd says the going was 'good to firm'

Amazingly, the girl I went to have my barcode scanned looked slightly familiar and she recognised me from Southsea parkrun and a study Sally & I did with her about 4 years ago at Portsmouth Uni! A small world especially as I was more than 250 miles from home. She's now working at the Uni in York.

Alex Gannon was 9th, Geoff Newman near his best and Maria Tucker 2nd female.
In the Age Grades Maria was 7th and Geoff 9th.
It was great to see Kevin Aylward back too after being injuted since September 2023.
