Brett's BFC Members parkrun review 12th October 2024
Whilst many of our members were away on Marathon duty in the 3 Countries (Germany, Switzerland, Austria), Chicago and Bucharest, some 36 of us ran (or walked) at 8 different events.
A total of 50 parkrunners took part at Great Salterns parkrun event #147
Dean Rockett ran a 5 sec PB.
In the Age-Graded Percentages, John Bucketsofrain was 2nd, I was 3rd, Maria 5th and Jason 8th.
Myself and Jason Smith made the top 10, as did Maria Tucker.
Thanks to the volunteers (which included Lynne Jolley on position 4 Lynn's Lookout for the 500th time!)

The course is at the Tamar Trails Centre, Tavistock. The course is run entirely on trail paths.
Course Description
A one lap, anti-clockwise trail course through woodland on well established paths in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and part of the Cornwall & West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. Starting on the path just south of the high ropes course and heading north with a flat start, the path takes in some of the old mine buildings before winding downhill towards the river followed by a steep climb then a fast flat section finishing close to the Trail Centre car park.
This could be another one for our Devon guys?

Another 1st for BFC, as Christine McCullough was top again and 5th in the Age Grades.
Carrie Richardson Haunstrup ran a great PB, which I felt would come soon, paced by sister Laura Richardson. Son Isaac also ran a PB (11 secs). Nephew Ryan ran his best here since April.

Liam John Bradshaw wa snear his fastest here. The 1st female was the new F50-54 record holder from Great Salterns last week, beating her last week's time by 11 secs out of interest. Great Salterns Male record holder James Baker was only 2nd but had a big race the following day.
March 2022 was the last time Steve Cross ran a parkrun this fast and good friend Kevin Rowsell ran his fastest parkrun since June 2022.

Course Description
The course is run on a mixture of concrete paths, gravel paths and trail paths
Two laps along, predominantly fine gravel, harbor wall walkway stretching from the east peninsular to the west peninsular of the Marina. The run starts near the parking lot by Red Dog Grill and ends by the restroom facilities on the same parking lot.
