Brett's BFC Members parkrun review 26th October 2024

I make it 10 different parkruns with 45 different runners (and walkers)

A total of 38 parkrunners took part at Great Salterns parkrun event #149 where there were a couple of small puddles , but the grass was a little wet and the ground quite firm.

1st place went to Paul Osborne near his fastest on this course too. Libby Osborne as 2nd placed female was not far from her best too. I was 8th and Jason Smith 9th.

In the Age-Graded Percentages, Paul Osborne was 4th, I was 5th, John Bucketsofrain 6th and Jason Smith 10th.

Louise Griffin was 10th female in a leisurely run/walk?

Jack Ingleby 6th in a new PB by 1:22 and an All parkrun PB by 57 secs was one of the stand out highlights on a day with many speedy times. However Christine was 2nd female only 2 secs outside her recent PB and Jo Wilkins was 6th female in an 18 sec PB.

Paul Ingleby ran his fastest since August 2019, Hattie Locke in 11th ran an All parkrun PB by 2:14 and Amanda Simpson a 1:16 PB beating her time from September 2019.

Carrie Richardson Haunstrup was near her recent record time and Paul Harrison ran his best this year.

Amanda Simpson was 3rd in the Age Grades.

Robert Marsh was near his fastest on this course. I wonder who has run the most different Devon courses, Robert Marsh or Jason Smith?

The course is run on a mixture of tarmac paths and paved paths.

Course Description

Route A This is run entirely along the 3 laps of the promenade which is flat and paved. The course is run in an anti-clockwise direction between the Yacht Club and the lighthouse by the point car park. This course is very picturesque and runners will experience the beautiful coast line as they run.

Route B (back up) Route B, in case of not being able to use the main Route A, is entirely on permanent paths within Eastcliff Park. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course or signs will be in place.
