Brett's BFC Members parkrun review 30th November 2024

I make it 39 current members took part in 8 separate events all in the UK this week.

A total of 56 parkrunners took part at Great Salterns parkrun event #154

In slower conditions again John Bucketsofrain and Julie Allan Fuller were 6th and 10th respectively in the Age-Graded Percentages. Julie Allan Fuller, Maria Tucker and Denise Courtney were all in the top 10 female finishers.

Why not get involved and volunteer? Once again many have stepped up to help on Saturday 7th including many regulares and BFC members. Tomorrow a couple more marshals would be great but some events are being cancelled over the country due to a lack of help. We are very lucky to have a good core crowd of Volunteers.

A total of 315 parkrunners took part at Southsea parkrun event #513

Back on for a week, but off again on the 7th due to another storm forecast, Robert Marsh and Sean Reeve were near their fastest on this course. Paul Harrison ran his fastest for 12 months. Libby Osborne and Paul Osborne were among the Volunteers who also included many of the Grasshopper Coaching lot that a few of us know. 1st male finisher Nayeem has run with some of us at the Grasshopper track sessions and he was approriately won on his last parkrun before he heads back to Bangladesh for a business venture and then, as he told me, to take it to Malaysia.

Becci Knowles did well to be 3rd female on her debut and is our 1st runner here. It is possible that I may run this one next year, hopefully anyway!

Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest, Goudhurst, nr Cranbrook.

Course Description

The undulating “lollipop” route follows firm gravel tracks. A 1.5 km out-and-back section leads to a clockwise 2km single-lap section.

As with all gravel tracks, there may be puddles or the odd soft section following rain, but trail shoes are not required.

The course is marked by Forestry England signs and these are supplemented by marshals positioned at key points.
