Brett's BFC Members parkrun review 21st/25th December 2024

At the moment Southsea is on tomorrow, New Year's Day BUT they are making a final decision at 7am! The winds are forecast to be quite strong.

Course Description
This is a one and a half lap course starting close to the Mansion House on the path leading towards the Avenue. The route follows the tarmac path until the old Cherry Orchard Site (dog free recreation area). The course then follows a grass track until the Mansion House is reached. This starts the final lap. The course is fast and flat with a mixture of surfaces. Care should be taken during wet or icy conditions. It is off tomorrow!
At QE Lisa Cross, Kevin Rowsell, Steve Cross and Maria Rowsell ran.
Alex Gannon ran at Salisbury and Becci Knowles at Sandall Park and was 4th female in a huge 1:10 PB.
Finally at Southsea, Christine McCullough was 2nd female in 19:14 about 30 secs outside her recent PB, Hattie Locke 5th in a really fast 21:11, a 25 sec PB. There was also the return of Sonny Locke after nearly 18 months and Robert Duncan Clayton (2nd in 9 months)
Katherine Newell again volunteered.
Inevitably there will be some errors and omissions especially from the Christmas Day review, but I make it 48 of us took part at 12 events.
