Brett's parkrun review for 6th September 2025
Bromley parkrun
A total of 849 parkrunners took part.
Course Description (Summer includes some grassy gravel otherwise all tarmac)
The route is just over two and a half clockwise laps of the park, keeping the marker cones on your right at all times. This is a popular course and we encourage participants to keep left where possible and overtake on the right.

I didn't put this one top, honest, it's just the way the results have turned out, but I really rnjoyed this. 2.5 clockwise laps, my fastest parkrun since Southampton in September 2 years ago and my highest ever Age Grade. I beat the previous BFC time of Ian Briscoe, but he informed me his was not all tarmac. Still, there's a challenge for you Ian!

Highbury Fields parkrun
A total of 572 parkrunners took part.
Liam John Bradshaw debuted in one of his fastest times.
Course Description
The run begins on grass on the lower field at Highbury Fields. parkrunners run across the grass to join the path of Highbury Place and run 5 laps anticlockwise around Highbury Place and Highbury Crescent. Marshals are positioned at key sections to direct parkrunners and alert of any potential hazards.
After completing 5 laps, parkrunners veer left onto the well trodden ground on the corner of the lower field to join Queen's Walk and proceed left towards the finish. I must admit when I ran here (21:42) I began to doubt how many laps I had run!

Dinton Pastures parkrun (Wokingham)
A total of 428 parkrunners took part.
Course Description
The Dinton Pastures parkrun route is a 2-lap course on the west side of the park. It starts at the bottom corner of White Swan Lake by the gate to a car parking area and a path accessing the main lake. The first lap runs anticlockwise around White Swan Lake, taking in Tufty’s Corner, and the second lap runs around the west side of Black Swan Lake until the path to the bird hide, which you take around Herons Water until the top of White Swan Lake, which you then follow around (bypassing Tufty’s Corner) until the start. The footpath is mostly compacted gravel and very flat and in dry weather regular road running shoes will suffice. If it has been raining recently the paths will have puddles and areas of the course can get muddy and potentially slippery so, if you have them, trail shoes would be better.

Another 1st for BFC with Kevin Aylward running his fastest since July 2023.
View full results for Sloughbottom parkrun event #259
Course Description
A one lap course on a mixture of asphalt paths and grassland which starts at the pavilion in Sloughbottom Park and goes out along Marriott’s Way with a loop of Anderson’s Meadow. Along Marriott’s Way runners will travel in opposite directions, so please keep right at all times to avoid collisions. Parts of the course are near to open water. It is therefore essential that children under the age of 11 are kept within arm’s reach of a responsible adult. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at this event due to narrowness of paths.
