Brett's BFC Members parkrun review for 15th November 2025

57 members showed up on parkrun's records at 16 different events.

Great Salterns parkrun

A total of 35 parkrunners took part.

Highlights here were top 10 finishes for Yarian Slevin with a sterling effort to get 2nd place, Eric De Greef 6th and Geoff Newman 10th. As far as I can see they were their highest placings. In the Age Grades these 3 were 1st, 4th and 3rd.

Louise Griffin was 8thfemaleand Robert Marsh ran a Southsea PB by a superb 53 secs and an All-parkrun PB by 33 secs. The Benidorm Half training is showing its worth.

Steve Cross ran his best here since November 2024 & similarly Hope Sea. Ashleigh Moira was within 1 min of her best.

Lymington Woodside parkrun

Course Description

Our grass and tarmac course shows Woodside Park at its very best taking in both the well kept playing fields and the beautiful gardens. Lap one (1km) takes in the perimeter of the playing fields while laps two and three (2km each) include a circuit of the gardens as well as the playing fields.

During very wet weather if the ground in the bottom playing field is too soft we will use our alternative course which consists of three laps of the top playing fields and the gardens.

The start and finish is close to the Pavilion.

Upton House parkrun

Course Description

The course consists of two big loops and one small loop within Upton Country Park in the order big - small - big.

To find the start and pre event brief gathering point, follow the path from car park past the tea rooms and through the gate.

Shortly after the start, turn sharp left to start the first anti-clockwise big loop which takes you downhill through woods and left onto a path which meanders through an open meadow. Towards the end of the first loop at the top of an incline you pass the finish funnel and keep straight on, passing the start point again. At the next junction, carry straight on to commence the small anti-clockwise loop. There will be runners in both directions for a short stretch at the start/end of this smaller loop so always stay right. At the top of the hill turn right to start the big loop for a second time. As you near the top of the incline on the second big loop, head left into the finish funnel on the grass.

The course is mildly undulating and offers stunning views over Holes Bay.

Course Description

An out and back course on Keswick Railway Path, from the bollards just after the old station to a turn-around at the iron bridge. The whole course is tarmac, quite flat for Keswick (!) and has great views of the river all the way. The last half mile should be really fast. Road running shoes are best suited.

Marine Parade parkrun

Course Description

Just over two complete laps from the toilet block by the bus shelters to Knightstone Slipway and back.

From the start by the toilet block, you follow the promenade up to Knightstone Slipway, then turn back towards the start. The turning point is at the last bus shelter before Revo Kitchen, then back to Knightstone Slipway for a second lap. The finish is at the steps to the beach before the old Victorian Café building opposite the Premier Inn.
