Riverfront parkrun

A total of 409 parkrunners took part.

Course Description

The course is a flat out and back following the path along the River Usk.

Starting from the rear of The Riverfront Theatre it heads south along the river past the iconic Newport City Footbridge and beneath the George Street Bridge. From there it continues tracking the river path, under the Southern Distributor Road Bridge to the sailing ship sculptures and returns along the same route, with the finish line at The Wave sculpture.

Due to the width of the path in some places no dogs are allowed on this course.

We ask all participants, including those in wheelchairs and/or with buggies to take special care at the various bends and corners to avoid collisions with oncoming participants

Bournemouth parkrun

A total of 384 parkrunners took part.

Paul Griffin debuted but told me he should have had trail shoes on. otherwise he'd have surely bettered my 22:02, but maybe not the 19:59 by Jack Courtney.

Course Description

The course consists of one small lap and two large laps with a short dash to take participants to the finish. It is run in an anti-clockwise direction on firm, mainly flat tarmac paths and small sections of compacted earth. There are undulations and short sections of uneven ground with tree roots to avoid. Fast times can be expected!

The start is on the grass at the rear of the Athletics Stadium. The route heads along the grass before meeting a tarmac path for 100m. A 90 degree left onto the grass and then the route then turns left (at ‘The Split’) back onto tarmac, around the park to complete the small loop.

The route continues on tarmac and then turns left past the containers and the play park, along another tarmac path. Participants do the same route as before until they again reach ‘The Split’, where they now turn right and down a short hill. Turning left into ‘The Woods’ for less than 100m of gravel and compacted earth (mind the tree roots here). Back onto tarmac, follow the route up ‘The Hill’ (It’s about 50m long and a gradual incline) all the way to ‘Sweepers Corner’, then turn left again and head for another left turn at ‘Katie’s Corner’. Compacted gravel takes you along a path and then through ‘The Dip’, up a grass hill where you turn right back onto tarmac to complete the first big lap.

Complete the big lap for the second time before turning right through the trees for the last 100m dash down the grass to the finish! The whole route is signed, with marshals on all the key points.

Course Description

The course is a flat, 2 lap, anti-clockwise route entirely on tarmac paths around the south loop of Battersea Park. We meet at the finish location, on the gravel area at the intersection of Carriage Drive West and Central Avenue (w3w: ///sports.store.expert). The start is on Central Avenue to the west of the bandstand.
