Highcliffe Beach parkrun

A total of 523 parkrunners took part.

Course Description

Highcliffe Beach parkrun is a scenic and mostly flat two lap course with fantastic views across the Solent towards the Isle of Wight. The route is run on a combination of mixed hard gravel paths, shingle with some sandy patches. Participants need to keep left at all times as it is a two lap course with sharp turn points and overtaking.

Starting at Chewton Bunny Nature Reserve heading towards the beach. A right turn takes participants along the path towards the east turnpoint at approx 1.3km. The course then heads back east along the beach path. After 500m, participants will be guided up a compacted gravel path onto a higher level. After 300m,a marshal will guide participants back down towards the beach path to the west turn point for the second lap. The course finishes with a slight downhill gradient on the upper level.

On Christmas Day parkrun do not provide such a comprehensive list (no list of which events were attended by BFC) so here are some notes I made.

At Great Salterns, Jack Ingleby, Paul Osborneand Alex Gannon were near their PBs in 2nd, 4th and 8th positions and Louise Griffin was 1st female. In the Age Grades Jack was 2nd, Paul O 5th, I was 6th and Paul I 10th.

Volunteers were Kevin AYLWARD, James COLLIER, Ian GREGORY, Jennifer HAILSTONE, Jim HAILSTONE, Lynne JOLLEY, Darron JOLLIFFE, Kristian LAW, Hannah LAZELL, Alisdair LITTLE, Jen LITTLE, Edward MORRIS, Libby OSBORNE, Paul OSBORNE, Brett RUMFITT, Sally RUMFITT, Carol SEYMOUR, Jason SMITH, Jessica SMITH, Janice Janice Wellstead

At Southsea former BFC Christine Mc was 1st female. Ethan (Carrie Richardson Haunstrup) ran a 39 sec PB and cousin Ryan a massive 1:08 best. Carrie Richardson Haunstrup herself was near.

At Meon Valley Shelley Locke was back running which is great news. On the Isle of Wight Richard Walker was near his best.At Exeter Riverside Robert Marshran a 1:15 course PB.

At Hartlepool, Billy Jules Bilton ran his 2nd fastest on the course.
