Albert parkrun, Melbourne
A total of 959 parkrunners took part.
Course Description
The meeting point and finish line is at the Coot Picnic Area, Albert Park, in the BBQ shed directly across the road from the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). Participants can leave non-valuables at Coot Picnic area (at the owner's risk) to collect when finished.
From Coot Picnic area, participants walk 300m to the Palms Lawn for the briefings and start. The welcome for first-timers and visitors is at 7.50am and the main briefing is at 7.55am. No personal belongings should be left at the start area, the team will not collect them.
From Palms Lawn, the course follows the iconic Albert Park Lake path anticlockwise, finishing at the Coot Picnic Area. The boat shed at the southern end of the lake is halfway. See the map above. There are public toilets at the Coot Picnic Area and at the 4.5km mark. Water fountains are positioned about every kilometre around the course and at the Coot Picnic Area. There are distance markers on poles to the left of the path every kilometre.

Hattie Locke was 3rd female near her PB, Amanda Simpson was 2nd in the Age Grades and Laura Richardson, 7th female, ran a 12 sec PB (fastest at any parkrun) in her 143rd run here. (helped by other members around her). Yarian Slevin was near his fastest here and it was good to see Fiona Cfb back at a parkrun.

Hockley Woods parkrun

Course Description
A two lap, clockwise, scenic, undulating course within the confines of Hockley Woods (the largest remaining area of wild wood, which covered Essex after the Ice Age 10,000 years ago).
The run starts just a short walk down the main path (less than a minute from the car-park and assembly area), and accessing wide hard-packed soil and gravel paths.
The slight uphill start is rewarded with a complex mosaic of different trees, oak and sweet chestnut grow on the higher ground; birch on the most acidic soils; hornbeam on the wet clays, with a right turn at the end of the main path, and an immediate left turn onto harder paths reaching the limit of the outer woods.
A right turn brings you down into Hawkwell Wood before a slight uphill and then long wide downhill section in Beaches Wood brings you to a final short uphill narrow section in Great Bull Wood to the overlap section where you begin the second lap which now includes a downhill section, running past the original start positon before retracing the route of the first lap.
The finish area is just off the main path, and in front of the children’s play area and The Woodlands café.

Severn Bridge parkrun

Course Description
Starting in Monmouthshire, Wales, on the Wye Bridge Section of the old Severn Bridge, the route is an out and back course over the beautiful Severn Bridge. The run takes you across the national border into England, and into the counties of Gloucestershire and Avon, taking in breathtaking scenery of Wales and England either side of the Severn Estuary, before bringing you back into Wales. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at this event.

The Old Showfield parkrun

Course Description
Nearly four laps around the Old Showfield on smooth paths. Some gentle climbs; and some good downhills, set within a natural, green landscape - with views stretching across the town.
Please note unfortunately the paths are not wide enough to accommodate double buggies.

Downs Link parkrun, Shoreham-by-Sea
A total of 237 parkrunners took part.
Jason Smith and I debuted here just west of Hove. I was 6th in the Age Grades. We are our 1st runners here. It is on another former railway line that ran through to Steyning & Horsham from 1861-1966. It is on compacted gravel and had very few puddles considering the amount of rain we have endured lately.
Course Description
The event is a simple out-and-back along the Downs Link path in Shoreham-by-Sea, on the east side of the river Adur. Starting under the A27/Shoreham Bypass, the course heads north for 2.5km. At the halfway point, there will be two marshals at the turnaround, who will direct runners back the way they came, with the finish back underneath the overhead bypass. The path may be narrow, and we share the course with the general public, including cyclists and horse riders, so please be considerate to other users and keep left as much as possible.
