Some great running here on the seafront despite the 'paper clip' course. 5th place (11th Age Grade & only 3 secs outside his PB) for Paul Osborne, 14th for Steven Parker (5th in Age Grades and equalling his PB), Graeme Stewart (new member) also equalled his PB, Laura Richardson was 5th female finisher, near her best and 17th out of 532 in the Age Grades.Eric De Greef ran his fastest here since October 2025,Kam Fan was back, Carrie Richardson Haunstrup & Libby Osborne were near their best and Katherine Newell was a tailwalker.

Worthing parkrun

Nikki Wright, Helen Sarah (driver) and I debuted here on a lovely day. I was 14th of 705 in the Age Grades with my fastest since December 25. Our best here are still Paul Griffin, Jason Smith and Louise Griffin (20:09, 21:19 and 22:52)

Course Description

The course is a flat run, entirely run on tarmac. The start line (which is marked on the promenade) is in the Splash Point area on Worthing promenade (just east of the pier), and it is an out-and-back course finishing adjacent to (the similarly named) Splashpoint Leisure Centre. Please keep to the left and give way to other users of the promenade.

Please meet the Run Director on the shingle beach next to the promenade at 8.50am for the pre-run briefing, please keep the promenade clear as much as possible.

Great Salterns parkrun

Paul Ingleby was 1st for the 1st time in a massive 1:06 course PB just heading off Emma Jolley ( only 6 days after his fast Brighton Marathon).

In the Age Grades, Paul Ingleby was 2nd, Yarian Slevin 5th and also 6th finisher. Robert Marsh was near his course best. The new boys who have joined us recently Oliver and Liam were 5th (20:36) & 9th (21:15).

Itchen Valley Country parkrun

A total of 253 parkrunners took part.

Course Description

Participants will navigate a variety of surfaces, including grass, compacted gravel, forest trails, and bridle paths, which are closed to horse riders for the duration of the event. The course is a single lap with only two brief sections where participants will encounter others coming the opposite way. Trail shoes are recommended.

Starting in the field adjacent to the top car park near Go Ape, the route heads slightly uphill across the neighbouring field before joining the bridle way (the bridle gate is removed during the event to avoid crowding) with a right turn. Participants then follow a series of turns through a mix of bridle paths, trails, and grass, eventually exiting near the top of the field where they first joined the bridle path. At this point, they make a right turn and pass behind the totem pole, continuing down a compacted gravel path on a gradual slope, entering the forest trail for the final 2k.

The course then follows the off-road cycle route and forest trail before re-joining the path where participants had entered the woods earlier. After this short two-way section, the course concludes with a straight finish across the field where it began.

Cwmbran parkrun

Course Description

The course starts outside the Boating Lake café, completes a lap of the lake on a tarmac path and after crossing the stream into the Southfields turns left onto the field, which it crosses before going under the subway onto chippings and then back onto a tarmac path alongside the river to the Northfields before turning and retracing the previous route back to the start. The whole route is flat and run on a combination of tarmac, grass and chippings. The area near the subway can flood and become unusable in bad weather in which case an alternative all tarmac route may be used, which involves laps of the lake and twice out and back to the Southfields car park.

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at this event.
