Crystal Palace parkrun

Course Description
The route starts by the cafe near Thicket Road car park and turns right off the central avenue by the playground. The route continues on the gravel path which eventually becomes tarmac. Go up the short hill taking the first left. Continue with the fishing lake on the right hand side, past the concert bowl and take the first left. Follow the course and bear right when available, up a gradual slope. Follow the road with the concert bowl on the right and then the fishing lake on the right. Down the short hill and take a sharp left onto a gravel path. Follow the path keeping straight until approaching the Penge entrance to the park, turn right through the start line. Repeat the same route with the exception of the oval of tarmac near the concert bowl. Go straight instead. On the second lap and after passing through the start line, the finish funnel will be visible up on the left.
I ran here for the 1st time after seeing Snow Patrol, Amy MacDonald and Editors the day before. I was just unable to beat the record of Ian Briscoe of 22:24 although I'd followed the 23 min pacer who did beat the record! However I was 2nd of 421 in The Age Grades.

Hove Promenade parkrun

Course Description
The course is a flat run, entirely on tarmac, encompassing two laps of the promenade parallel to the shingle beach and Hove Lawns between the Peace Statue (marking the boundary between Brighton and Hove) and King's Esplanade near Medina Villas, Hove. The start and finish point is close to The Lawns Café on Hove Lawns.
The course is on tarmac but there may be a covering of pebbles following inclement weather due to the close proximity to the beach. Therefore, occasionally there may be Saturdays where it is deemed unsuitable to run from a health and safety perspective. Please keep a close eye on our news pages and/or Facebook page for updates.
Eric De Greef ran here with a 1:03 PB. Paul Osborne has our record still though of 19:36.

Eastbourne parkrun

Course Description
Mainly a tarmac path around Shinewater lakes. First section is on grass around a field then continues on the tarmac path around Shinewater lakes to finish off with a final lap of the field. Very flat course with the potential to get a PB every time.
The course route is around lakes & small drainage streams. Please ensure children are closely supervised and dogs are kept on a short, handheld lead.
Please note during the winter months we use our alternative course which is an out and back mainly on path which uses the same start / finish area.

Course Description
Two anticlockwise laps on grass around the perimeter of the east and west fields. The course is undulating. The ground is rough and uneven in places and gets very muddy in winter, the course may not be suitable for buggies in these conditions - please contact the team in advance for further advice on the course.
