Other unofficial runs ( we're all addicts! )
As well as Mondays and other official runs, many of our members also weekly get together for a variety of unofficial BFC training sessions. These are unofficial as they are not necessarliy organised or lead by one of our qualified run leaders (but more often than not you’ll find at least one of us there!). Some of these runs are listed below but to keep up-to-date on all and for further info please visit our Facebook page
A BFC staple, the Sunday Long Run! All abilities and various distances often depending on upcoming events and training schedules. BFC memebers usually meet at 8.30am at Tangier Rd layby or ‘Doggers” as we call it! Distances start from 10 miles up and routes around the coast and city vary from week to week. This is an excellent run session to go at a slow staedy pace, clock up the miles and have a good catch up wkth fellow runners. Keep an eye on Facebook for this weeks Sunday Funday plans.
A small group that understand the benefits of hill training. They meet most weeks at 8.30am on Tuesdays at the top of Farlington Hill in the carpark. It is then down and up for approximately 5 miles. All abilities welcome and you can just do one hill, two or three. Routes can vary but generally its out and back 3 times trying differnt hills. You will certainly see the improvements in your training after a few weeks of hillbillies! Keep an eye on Facebook for this weeks Hillbillies annoucement.
