Brett's BFC Members parkrun review for 1st August 2026

Of 404 registered as BFC members on parkrun, we have 141 paid up members???? I suspect many of these missing ones do not do parkrun or maybe even run at all now.

Meon Valley Trail parkrun, Wickham

A total of 249 parkrunners took part.

Great to see 3 others her on my 3rd run on this course. James was a very creditable 7th in a new course PB of 5 secs. I also had the rarity of a PB, 7 secs better than last year when I was also at the nearby(1 mile:an ideal warm-up) Wickham Festival. I was also very pleased with 6th in the Age Grades. Our record is held, just, by Paul Griffin with 20:13.

Alex Marathon also PB'd by 1:03.

Course Description

A flat out and back course following the Meon Valley disused railway line. Starting 350 metres north east from the Wickham old station car park, it runs directly out for 2.5km (actually a little more and is slightly uphill) before an about turn at a bridge (the 4th one) heading back to the finish line( which is further north than the start)

The path has new gravel from last year.

Mostly compacted gravel with some sections which can get wet and muddier during winter months. Narrow in some places but generally plenty of room for passing, buggies and dogs on leads.

Hogmoor Inclosure parkrun

A total of 244 parkrunners took part.

Lots of debuts here and a 1st place for Jack Ingleby (also 4th in Age Grades). Laura Richardson was 7th female finisher, and Paul Inglebywas 8th in the Age Grades. Our female AND overall best is Louise Griffin with 22:25.

Course Description

Two laps on a mixture of trail and sand, completed in an anti-clockwise direction. The start and finish are close to the main car park, café and children’s play area.

Course Description

A single loop on the closed road around Holyrood Park, starting next to St Margaret’s Loch. The surface is all tarmac. There is a steep 1.5km uphill near the start and a steep 1.5km downhill in the second half of the course.

Course Description

Out and back flat route along the concrete promenade. Start from the sailing club and head east. Run around Martello Tower, then turn around at the final row of beach huts just before Splashpoint. Head back west to the sailing club. Please keep to the left at all times along the run. When going out, at approximately 2.3k bear left and follow the footpath inland around Martello Tower. When coming back, at approximately 2.7k bear left and use the path on the coast-side of Martello Tower.

Course Description

The course is mainly flat and comprises four laps on a mix of gravel and tarmac, and a short grassy section, around the perimeter of Fordingbridge Recreation Ground. Part of the course enjoys lovely views as it runs alongside the River Avon.

The pre event brief takes place near the basketball court, with the start on the path between the skate park and the entrance, and the finish on the grass near the basketball court.

Course Description (fast, BUT often cancelled due to other events in the park)

The course is a flat, 2 lap, anti-clockwise route entirely on tarmac paths around the south loop of Battersea Park. We meet at the finish location, on the gravel area at the intersection of Carriage Drive West and Central Avenue (w3w: ///sports.store.expert). The start is on Central Avenue to the west of the bandstand.
