- Bretts Parkrun Roundup

parkrun Review for Saturday 19th November 2022

by Brett Rumfitt

A total of 50 (our smallest) runners took part at Great Salterns parkrun event #44

Richard Walker was near his best and was 3rd male and 6th best Age Grade as the rest of the field set off in vain pursuit of one of our best local runners, James Baker of Chichester. James has run here 6 times now must rate the course. He was 'taking it a bit easier' before the Gosport Marathon the following day. Paul Griffin was 7th male and 9th best Age Grade. Iza Pstrucha Nadathur was 9th female in a 19 sec PB and Ashleigh Moira 10th in a 42 sec best.

Jen Little ran a 1:01 best and Neil Griffiths bettered his fastest by 30 secs.

We may have small numbers, but most feedback is really positive and Dave Williams, the local parkrun ambassador told me recently we should not worry about attendances.

The course starts and finishes on the driveway in front of Cusworth Hall. It is a slightly extended out and back route which explores the undulating terrain of Cusworth Hall Park. Following level paths in front of the hall and around the car park, the course drops down to the lakes at the southern end of the park. After running around the lakes the course zig-zags uphill across the main lawn before heading towards the finish.
