A total of 311 runners took part at Portsmouth Lakeside parkrun event #173. Louise Griffin was 4th female finisher and Sonny Locke ran another sub 20:00. Richard Stevens smashed 2:48 off his previous best here and ran his 2nd fastest parkrun overall, only 1 second off his best! Steve Cross ran his 4th fastest parkrun anywhere and was 18th best age-graded time.

A total of 485 runners took part at Southsea parkrun event #310. The wind is always a hot topic of conversation down on the promenade and it was easterly for a change and was welcome as it was stifling on the return leg. Dean Schubert, Katherine Newell and Verity-Jayne Walton were among the volunteers. Ian Briscoe, Jason Smith and Fiona Shaw all ran near to their best times. Daniel Walton ran a brilliant PB by 0:11 and Amanda Simpson bettered her best by 0:07. Superb efforts in that heat. In the age-graded times, I was very pleased with 4th, Fiona Shaw was 6th, Michael Rae 9th and Amanda Simpson 11th. We were celebrating the 60th birthday of Debbie Pentland who is well know to many Baffins runners as someone who always stays cheerful and is nearly always seen running in very bright or eye-catching costumes.
