parkrun Review for Saturday 9th April 2022

A total of 105 runners took part at Great Salterns parkrun event #12

Baffins runners had 4 PBs (Ian Briscoe 0:48, Jason Smith 0:38 a week after his Manchester Marathon, John Bucketsofrain 0:03 and Brenda Bradshaw nearly 20 mins, but her other time was as a tailwalker and 2 first-timers (Jacquie Jones and Steve O'Shea). Kim Stroud was 7th female finisher.

John Bucketsofrain was 5th in the age-graded percentages.

There was cake and bubbly as a visiting runner and his entourage celebrated his 500th parkrun.

A total of 73 runners took part at Whinlatter Forest parkrun event #139. Helen Mayhead made her debut here as tailwalker and our 1st runner here in the Lake District.

The course is at Whinlatter Forest Park, Braithwaite, Keswick. The course is run entirely on trail paths. A hilly run through Whinlatter Forest Park taking in the beautiful scenes of Derwentwater and the surrounding mountain ranges. One lap with a loop, using trail surfaces, the start and end are close to the main car park.
