After a particularly busy week, here is last week's parkrun review highlighting the performances by current Baffins members. ( We have over 200 now!) I apologise for any missed typos, but I've just had a small injection in my right hand!!

Mercede Alcina Pannozzo was 8th female finisher and Fiona Shaw had the 5th best Age-Grade with Dave Rees-Whelan having the 7th best. Dave ran his fastest for 4 months and new member Jo Wilkins was 6th female in a new PB by a huge 1:41. She now has the 8th best all-time female time here for BFC members, 5th best of current members.

A total of 238 runners took part at Medina I.O.W. parkrun event #490 not at Seaclose in Newport, or Appley Park in Ryde, but Tennyson Down near Freshwater on a temporary course. Eric De Greef. Amanda Simpson and Laura Richardson (all making debuts) went over on the car ferry and cycled all the way to West Wight for this tough course. Well done all!

I think a trip to the IOW would be good for the club on a sunny day when it is back in Ryde too.

A total of 183 runners took part at Eden Project parkrun event #133 The event takes place at the Eden Project, Bodelva, Par, PL24 2SG. The course (on permanent paths) starts by the ‘Banana’ coach and car parks and skirts the top of the crater before descending into two and two-thirds anti-clockwise laps which zigzag inside the crater, passing around the Core and in front of the Mediterranean and Rainforest Biomes. On the final lap you turn right for the finish line when you reach the en-trance of the biomes.

Chi SO and Kitty Amelia Li made their debuts at this wonderful site. Chi SO is our fastest here.

A total of 95 runners took part at Great Salterns parkrun event #14. The course is dry now so times are getting faster each week for many.

The PBs were in no particular order: Colin Southwell 0:28, Jo Parry 1:50, Kev Budd 0:54, Rich Harris 2:03, Nick Lay 0:45, Jason Smith 0:03 and me 0:22. Keith Caunt was not far ofrom his best here too. Helen Mayhead was 9th female and I had 4th highest Age-Grade.

Pam Threader ran for the first time as did Janice Wellstead who was a tail-walker.

Of the 95 runners, 22 ran PBs and 47 were first timers so an incredible 67 ran their best times in all in an event that has had, and continues to have a large amount of support from Baffins Fit Club.

Please as always, consider volunteering especiallky if resting, injured or racing the next day. Many roles can be combined with running too, such as pre-event set-up, token sorting and barcode scanning after you have finished and got your breath back if you are a faster runner.
